Welcome to the website of the Faculty of Culture and the Arts!

Our faculty is one of the first cultural and artistic faculties that was opened in Ukrainian classical universities. Year of foundation of the faculty – 2004.

The faculty’s teaching staff has been changing in quantitative and qualitative terms for ten years. Beginning with 119 members (among which there were 9 Professors, 26 Associate Professors, 9 Senior Lecturers and 74 Assistants) at the beginning of the Faculty’s foundation, today the team has grown to nearly two hundred Lecturers, including 10 Professors, Doctors of Sciences, 59 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors, 15 Senior Lecturers and 109 Assistants. It is notable that a significant part of the younger generation of the current teaching staff is graduates from the faculty, who continue their scientific career as postgraduate students and applicants in various fields of art and cultural studies, librarianship.

At all departments of the Faculty, specialists are trained for such educational degrees as Bachelor (duration – 3 years and 10 months of study), and Master (duration – 1 year and 4 months of study). In the first year of Faculty’s life (2004), 145 students were enrolled in all educational areas. Up to the present (2016/2017), the total number of students at the faculty is 508 people (in full-time and part-time study forms). In 2016, the third educational level – Doctor of Philosophy in the specialty “Musical art” was launched. Teachers of the faculty publish their scientific, artistic and methodological works in international and Ukrainian scientific journals, as well as in monographs, textbooks and manuals. Each year the faculty conducts scientific conferences for students, lecturers and academics, where they discuss the contemporary problems of the respective branches of sciences of culture, the arts, librarianship and information affairs.

The faculty trains students in the following specialties:
