“Modern achievements in Ukrainian and foreign theater studies”
(online conference, Lviv, Ukraine, February 27-28, 2023)
Ukraine has a good academic tradition of holding a scientific conference every year at the end of February titled “National scientific readings in memory of Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine Rostyslav Pylypchuk” and dedicated to this outstanding theater scholar and theater historian.
(Co-organizers of the conference: The Department of Theater Studies and Acting, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv; The National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, The Shevchenko Scientific Society).
In 2023, for the first time, the conference will be held in an international format with the participation of scientists representing the universities of Poland, the Czech Republic, Austria, the UK, and the USA, which are the partners of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
On the one hand, it is an event aimed at honoring a prominent scientist and his scientific work. On the other hand, it is a thematic platform for rethinking this heritage, as well as presenting new developments related to the circle of scientific interests of the Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Professor Rostyslav Pylypchuk.

– Ukrainian-Polish cultural and artistic relations;
– Shakespeare studies in Ukraine and the world;
– source studies;
– topical issues of the methodology of historical theater studies;
– multidisciplinary approaches in theater studies;
– topical issues of theater education;
– modern theater and the challenges of full-scale war;
– a new wave of Ukrainian drama;
– theater as art therapy.
Working languages of the conference: Ukrainian and English.
