Studying at the Faculty of Culture and Arts is unique with its combination of modern education in the field of art and culture with the academic environment in which it is implemented. Ivan Franko Lviv National University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in Ukraine, which is more than 360 years old. In its educational and research activities, the University – and the faculty – successfully combines tradition and innovation, theory and practice, academism and informal learning approaches.
The educational process – simultaneously with the acquisition of thorough theoretical knowledge – is focused on the practical preparation of the student for future professional activities. Therefore, a third of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the faculty are invited experienced practitioners from various fields. These are leading actors and directors of Lviv theatres, choreographers and ballet masters, heads of departments of scientific libraries and archives, cultural managers, music teachers, soloists-vocalists, performing musicians, media workers, etc.
